Wining n' Dining
June 17, 2010
Life is good when a half-dozen successful CRE men don tuxedos and serve wine. This was the scene last week at the semi-annual wine tasting party hosted by HKS biz dev director Lea Yaest and Arledge Partners' prez Susan Arledge, who started the party three years ago as a networking and wine tasting for CRE women. Men were asked to serve as wine stewards, and so it's no surprise that 150 women showed. Because it's gotten so large, Allie Beth Allman Realtors SVP (and Susan's sister) Brenda Sandoz provided one of her custom-built home listings in Highland Park. Enjoying the party are JLL's Calvin Hull and Jon McNeil, Lea, Bauhaus' Ron Welch, Susan, Structure Tone's David Snyder, Henry S. Miller Investments prez Robert Grunnah, and Integral Real Estate Joe Gampper. |
Here we have amateur sommeliers Robert and David with Susan and Falcon Cos Real Estate's Linda Zimmerman. Susan gushes about the fellas: âMost of the women come to network with these great guys—it sure isn't because of Lea and me!â Robert tells us investment sales remain a victim of the financing markets, and cautions that if the current administration allows Bush tax cuts to expire (as expected) the dramatically increased tax rates will negatively impact not just real estate, but virtually every investment vehicle available. Owners contemplating a possible sale need to seriously consider completing it by year-end, he says, and probably have another glass of the Cabernet. |
