Winstead Goes Uptown
June 22, 2010
The business law firm Winstead PC is trading downtown (the Renaissance Tower) for Uptown, signing a 129k SF deal in the 10-story 2728 N. Harwood with Harwood International. It'll occupy eight floors starting in January 2013. Winstead shareholder and executive committee member Mike Alessio tells us that 2728 Harwood has a âvery efficient building core" and the large central core at the Renaissance wasn't needed any more. |
Mike tells us that the firm developed goals for its office space that were a departure from typical space conventions. Use of technology, staffing ratios, common-area use, library functionality, and sustainable design are all a part of the changing nature of the legal industry, he says. Harwood leasing and development veep Jihane Boury (here with colleague Jessica Young overlooking 2728 Harwood) says Winstead is a perfect fit for the culture and architecture in the Harwood district. She and EVP/asset manager David Roehm negotiated the long-term lease with CBRE's Phil Puckett and Chris Herrmann, who repped Winstead. |
