Dallas-Area Commercial Contractor To Build 78K SF Home For New Company In Cedar Hill
The owner of a commercial contracting firm has filed plans to break ground on an $8M development in Southern Dallas.
Jonathan Lafuente, owner and president of Lafuente Framing in Grand Prairie, said in a filing with the state’s licensing department that he plans to begin construction in May on a 78K SF office and warehouse project at 1518 Edgefield Way in Cedar Hill.
The building will house Lafuente’s new company, Texas Truss, a manufacturer of wood-frame products, Lafuente confirmed to Bisnow. Nationwide Construction is the design firm.
Lafuente Framing is a minority-led enterprise that provides planning, scheduling and delivery services for multifamily and commercial construction projects, according to its website.
The Texas Truss project should take nine months to complete, per the filing.
Cedar Hill has been a benefactor of Dallas-Fort Worth’s recent trend of rapid inbound growth. A subsidiary of Lennar Corp. is building a 246-home subdivision in the area, while Republic Property Group was scheduled to wrap up construction on a 158-home build-for-rent project last spring.
