Mercedes-Benz To Build New Facilities In Grapevine
Merecedes-Benz USA plans to develop a new regional parts distribution warehouse and a new Learning & Performance Center on Lakeside Parkway in Grapevine.
Mercedes-Benz’s new facilities will sprawl over 254k SF on 31 acres that once belonged to Texas Rangers player Rafael Palmeiro.
The Learning & Performance Center is relocating from Houston to Grapevine and will serve as the training center for dealership technicians throughout the US, according to the Dallas Business Journal. The 59k SF building will employ 50 full-time employees. The company expects to train 150 to 200 technicians per week.
Kubota Tractor Corp will also occupy the property in a deal struck with the City of Grapevine. The new facility is expected to create hundreds of new jobs.
Atlanta-based Seefried Properties is the developer and plans to select a general contractor by the first week of March. Alliance Architects from Richardson is working on the design of the two buildings. Construction will begin next week by Vilhauer Enterprises.
The project is expected to be completed in January 2017. [DBJ]
