Labor Shortages And High Construction Costs Hinder Delivery Of 3,534 Units In Dallas
Labor shortages and high construction costs have pushed back the completion of 3,534 Dallas apartments into 2018, according to the Dallas Business Journal.
Axiometrics research shows Dallas is the market most affected in a national slowdown of construction deliveries. Major cities in the midst of multifamily booms, like Dallas, are feeling the greatest slowdown.
According to Axiometrics estimates, 15% of apartment completions were pushed from 2016 into this year. The firm estimates the same for this year going into next year. The total estimated number of units delayed nationwide is 56,186 units. New York and Houston trail Dallas, with 3,371 and 3,036 units delayed, respectively.
