Wildcat Management Takes On West End's Last Undeveloped Building
The Purse Building at 601 Elm St., the last undeveloped historic building in the West End, is about to get a second life. Wildcat Management is going to rehabilitate the 113-year-old building into 70K SF of modern retail and office space.
“For over a decade, the biggest story in Dallas real estate has been the redevelopment of the city center. With the rehabilitation of the Purse Building, we’re bringing that energy to the West End,” Wildcat Management President Tanya Ragan said in a statement. “We want to encourage technical innovation and smart city solutions while preserving the neighborhood’s amazing heritage.”
Work on the project has already begun and for the first time in almost 30 years, the Purse Building is bustling.
The update will include a 3,300 SF roof deck, and restoration of its original aesthetic with exposed brick, columns, high ceilings and hardwood floors.
