The Statler was inducted as the 300th hotel of the Historic Hotels of America. The redesign of the Statler, perhaps the most talked about of the redeveloped hotels in Dallas, was headed by Merriman Anderson/Architects.

The redesign was completed last year, and it now encompasses 33K SF with 159 rooms, 219 residences and five retail/restaurant spaces.

“We are proud to help restore this historic and iconic hotel for the residents and visitors of Dallas and are thrilled to see it receive this recognition,” Merriman Anderson Architects President and founder Jerry Merriman said. “The Statler once again provides a mid-century design and a luxurious experience to all who engage within.”

Historic Hotels of America is the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation recognizing and celebrating excellence in historic hotels. Hotels must be at least 50 years old, designated as a National Historic Landmark or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places and have historic significance to be nominated/selected for membership in the program.

The Statler is part of the Hilton Curio Collection and is owned by Centurion American Development Group.

The developer of The Statler, Mehrdad Moayedi, is speaking at Bisnow's Dallas State of the Market May 8.
