Blue Star Land founder/Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and KDC President Toby Grove were inducted into the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors and Real Estate Professionals Hall of Fame.

CBRE Chairman of Retail for the Americas Mickey Ashmore received the Michael F. McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award for community service.

Under Grove, KDC’s biggest project in development is CityLine, a 186-acre mixed-use project in Richardson that will build out to 5M SF of office space, 3,925 multifamily residential units, two hotels and two parks. KDC is also building the 250K SF office tower at The Epic.

Jones’ Blue Star Land has developed Starwood (a 550-acre residential development in Frisco), Riata (a 2,000-unit multifamily community in Austin), StarCreek (a 500-acre mixed-use development in Allen) and, of course, AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home to his Dallas Cowboys football team, and The Star in Frisco, the team’s training headquarters.

Ashmore has created and taught classes on commercial real estate and is the founder of Retail As Art, an annual scholarship contest designed to showcase the very best photographic interpretations of “retail as art” from DFW high school students. He has also been involved with The Family Place, Genesis Women’s Shelter and CASA.

NTCAR is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

Scott Mitchell was named vice president of sales for T5 Data Centers. He will be responsible for finding tenants for T5’s new facilities in the metro Dallas region (T5@Dallas in Plano and T5@Alliance in Fort Worth) and expanding sales of T5’s broader data center consulting and support services across the U.S., Ireland and Singapore. Mitchell has more than 20 years of experience working with customers in enterprise data centers and telecommunications.

CBRE Senior Associate Mallory Scaccetti was recognized as CBRE’s national RISE-ing Star in the company’s annual recognition of retail professionals ahead of ICSC RECon. The RISE-ing Star award goes to recipients in the first five years of their retail real estate careers.

Armet Dale Street Ltd. purchased 1420 Northpark Drive, a 31K SF industrial property in Fort Worth, from Cameo America Corp. Transwestern’s Jeff Givens and Todd Hawpe negotiated.

Quorum Architects purchased 825 Vickery Blvd., a 12K SF office building in Fort Worth. Transwestern’s Jim Sager and Linda Claytor represented the sellers.

An undisclosed private investor purchased Oak Cliff Bargain Storage, a 39K SF self-storage facility at 3316 Hansboro Ave. in Dallas. Marcus & Millichap’s Brandon Karr and Danny Cunningham represented the seller, a Pacific Northwest-based national storage operator.

2303 Shorecrest purchased a 16K SF building at 2303 Shorecrest Drive in Dallas. Stream’s Jason Moser represented the seller, SV Hardy. Mercer Co. represented the buyer.

Transwestern Dallas sold multifamily properties totaling 1,000 units in the first week of May. The assets include Eleven600 (216 units, Dallas), Parque Rio (386 units, Dallas), Spanish Timbers (160 units, Dallas) and Eastfield Plaza (216 units, Mesquite). The team behind the sales is Managing Director Taylor Snoddy and Vice Presidents Philip Wiegand and James Roberts.

DEVELOPMENT

The Hyatt Regency Stonebriar in Frisco broke ground. The 18-story, 303-room hotel will include a 55K SF conference center and a 3K SF Frisco Public Library. It will attach to Stonebriar Centre mall’s second floor. Sam Moon Group is the developer, Brasfield & Gorrie is the contractor, HKS is the architect and Looney & Associates is the interior designer. The city of Frisco is contributing $16.5M to the project through a public-private partnership, including purchasing the conference center when it is complete in 2020.

Beal Bank provided the senior loan for the project, with CLG Hedge Fund, an affiliate of Beal Bank, negotiating. The Riskind Group contributed the mezzanine loan. Staghorn Capital Partners was the broker for the financing.

Stream and joint venture partner LaSalle Investment Management broke ground on Parkway Logistics Center, a 272K SF spec industrial development in Grand Prairie. They will deliver a Class-A facility divisible down to 50K SF leases on the 14.3-acre site at 2911 South Great Southwest Parkway. Stream’s Todd Noonan represented the land seller, and Stream’s Cannon Green and Luke Davis represented the buyer.
