Baylor Scott & White About To Start Construction On Its Third Hospital In Frisco
Baylor Scott & White is about to break ground on a new hospital in Frisco.
The 340K SF facility will be located at the northeast corner of PGA Parkway and the Dallas North Tollway. Construction is slated to begin in March and last about 26 months, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
This will be Baylor’s first wholly owned facility in Frisco, despite operating two other medical centers at Warren Parkway and Legacy Drive and Lebanon and Coit roads. Those other facilities are jointly owned with other hospital operators and physicians, according to D Magazine.
The hospital declined to comment on the specifics of the project but said the region’s explosive growth is behind its decision to expand.
The new Frisco facility is expected to cost $265M, according to the TDLR filing. It is being designed by HKS Inc.
Frisco City Council voted to approve plans for the new hospital via a rezoning request in July. At the time, Mayor Jeff Cheney called the project “a big win for the citizens of Frisco and the region,” according to Community Impact Newspaper.
