Logistics Hub Breaks Ground On 255 Acres In Wilmer
A major logistics hub designed to feature two Class-A distribution centers broke ground in Southeast Dallas County this week.
Xebec Realty purchased a 255-acre industrial site in the small town of Wilmer to build out the first phase of what's known as the Logistix Hub in Southeast Dallas.
The hub will eventually bring 4.5M SF of industrial space inside four buildings inside Dallas County. Xebec plans to build out two buildings totaling 2.1M SF in the first phase of construction, which launched this month.
The development is situated next to major highways with connectivity to the Union Pacific Intermodal Terminal, a logistics link that connects industrial centers with access to 45 million U.S. customers. Once finished, the hub will offer tenants access to Interstate 45, I-25 and I-35.
"This groundbreaking at Logistix Hub, South Dallas marks our first development in the rapidly growing South Dallas industrial market," Xebec President and CEO Randy Kendrick said in a statement.
"The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on retail distribution has further catalyzed an already strong growth story for industrial real estate as e-commerce occupiers continue to expand their existing footprint."
