Collin College To Expand In Wylie
A 44-acre land donation from the City of Wylie will be the new site of the fourth main campus of Collin College. Both the college's board of trustees and the Wylie City Council approved the donation of land on FM 544.
The 415k SF campus will have a capacity of 8,000 students and break ground within three years to open in 2020, Community Impact Newspaper reports.
The college board also nudged the administration to negotiate two other parcels of land adjacent to the property on FM 544, both valued at less than $2M.
A master plan to open centers in Celina and Farmersville in 2020 was also approved during the meeting.
The 120k SF Celina center would be under the jurisdiction of Frisco's Preston Ridge Campus and the 60k SF Farmersville center would be under McKinney's Central Park Campus. The Celina center will eventually be one of the college's main campuses. [CIN]
