Fort Worth Stockyards To See $630M In New Development Projects
More than $600M will be invested into expanding the Fort Worth Stockyards following city council approval of an economic development package last week.
Fort Worth Heritage Development, a partnership between Majestic Realty, Hickman Cos. and M2G Ventures, will add at least 300K SF of commercial space, 500 hotel rooms, a 295-unit multifamily property and at least two below-ground parking garages intended to support Cowtown Coliseum.
The city has agreed to allocate $75M in economic development grants and to reimburse developers for up to $15M in improvements to the coliseum. It also executed a $126.2M purchase agreement for the garages.
The expansion is expected to be complete by the end of 2032.
Fort Worth Heritage Development began to revitalize the iconic Fort Worth landmark in 2014. The partnership renovated the area’s buildings and brought in a host of new shopping, dining and entertainment venues. It also added Hotel Drover, a Marriott Autograph Collection boutique hotel.
The redevelopment project has boosted traffic dramatically, with 9 million people visiting the Stockyards in 2023, up from 3 million in 2014, per Fort Worth Report.
