Crescent Communities Asks To Build New 20-Story Tower
Crescent Communities is interested in a tract of land adjacent to the newly completed Frost Tower near Victory Park. The Charlotte, NC-based company that builds master planned communities filed a rezoning request with the City of Dallas to build a 240-foot, 200-unit apartment building, according to the Dallas Business Journal.
The planning commission will consider the request in May. If approved, Crescent Communities could acquire the property from Mac Randall Owners; the parcel is appraised at $2.1M.
The site, 2007 Randall St (shown here) is in an area that lacks a lot of choice for apartments, but is also walkable to lots of restaurants. (It's been compared to Dupont Circle in Washington, DC.) The community would give nearby office workers a place to live and play.
Crescent Communities could get the project underway as early as the end of this year. [DBJ]
