The Nehemiah Co. Just Broke Ground On More Arlington Apartment Units, Following This Trend
After watching Phase 1 of the Arlington Commons multifamily community reach 94% occupancy within a year’s time, The Nehemiah Co. broke ground on a second phase this month to construct another 358 units.
The unit mix and planned amenities show how tenant demand is shaping the build-out of multifamily complexes in DFW.
After watching smaller one-bedroom units lease up quickly in Phase 1, The Nehemiah Co. Director of Multifamily Development Robin van Werkhoven said the company adjusted its unit mix for Phase 2 to meet market demands. Overall, the development will build out in four phases, creating 1,331 units.
As a result, 75% of the new phase will feature one-bedroom units, with the rest made up of two-bedroom units and less than 1% allocated to three bedrooms.
The development, located along Van Buren Drive and East Lamar Boulevard in Arlington, is anchored by a 3K-plus SF coffee shop and is close to Arlington Commons Park, an outdoor site that will eventually offer games, benches and a pavilion.
The community also features a four-story parking garage and a 3K-plus SF coworking space on top of The Nehemiah Coffee Co.
KWA Construction out of Addison is serving as a contractor for the project.
