Up Close With Jihane Boury

Harwood International director of leasing Jihane Boury grew up in Lebanon’s civil war with destruction all around. That devastation left her with a keen appreciation for architecture, and a desire to rebuild. One could argue she's more than delivered on that dream.

Jihane, a trained interior designer, is responsible for pre-leasing new developments, build-to-suits, national accounts leasing and overall marketing of spaces for Harwood International in Dallas. She's also involved in master planning the district of Harwood, encompassing 18 city blocks in the heart of Uptown.

One of her proudest achievements was her first development with Harwood, Azure, a project she was very involved with at all stages. Jihane remembers sitting at the kitchen table, redrawing the building, obsessing over every aspect in detail. As an interior designer, she says she really drills down on the details. Jihane tells us she enjoyed dealing with buyers, sourcing the stone and wood for flooring from around the world. 

Jihane has traveled all over. In London last year, she bumped into actor Pierce Brosnan and snagged a selfie with him. Still on her bucket list: seeing China and Japan and climbing Mt. Everest. But home  is Dallas. She says she loves the way the skyscrapers can change the city itself. And she loves the lifestyle.

Bleu Ciel, a luxury residential tower that just broke ground, is a good example of that. Now Jihane’s busy pre-leasing 2850 Harwood, the company’s next premium-luxe development. Harwood will break ground on that project in July.

With all of her projects, she loves to learn new ways of doing things, she says. She’s always asking why something must be done just because it’s always been done that way. Her goal with every project is to simply create spaces people want to occupy.
