5 Things We Learned at One Hanover Park
1. Weathermen Exaggerate
First thing we learned at Bisnow's Future of the Platinum Corridor event Wednesday morning is that it takes more that some snow flurries and threats of dangerous roads to keep the masses away from hot events. Brokers know if you're not first, you're last and more than 400 of you came to schmooze and hear from some real estate greats at the event at One Hanover Park.
2. 25k SF Full Floor Ready To Go
Second, we saw firsthand the full floor white box 25k SF eighth floor that PMRG has ready for a tenant to move into at One Hanover Park (16633 North Dallas Parkway in Addison). The building, which PMRG purchased last fall, hosted the Bisnow event. Here are PMRG's Kurt Cherry and Shea Byers bookending Gaedeke's Belinda Dabliz.
3. There's 11 Acres for Sale
We also learned about one of the last two large tracts of land in Addison for sale when we caught up with Gensler's Marsha Ghetto-Aikens, Priority 1 Signs' Nathan Jones (a former Dallas Cowboy), Dowdle Real Estate's Lynn Dowdle and CASE Commercial's Susan Gwin Burks. Susan is selling the 11.607 acres on the Tollway between Excel Parkway and Addison Parkway. She and her client are working with Addison town leaders to get a planned development for the tract. She says there's a lot of interest in this parcel and has a deal working for a portion of the tract.
4. Swanky Chairs Add Pizzazz
We also learned that great furnishings can take a vacant office space and class it up, thanks to Global Total Office's Terah Kitcher and Tina Bailey. The duo provided the super cool (and comfy) office furniture for the panelists. They even tolerated our repeated rearranging of the furniture.
5. Speed Networking Works
And, finally, we learned that Bisnow speed networking can be a lot of fun and a good matchmaking experience (for dealmakers). It's the second match-up Bisnow has hosted in Dallas. It's a lot like speed dating, except in this case, you'd like to spend more than 60 seconds with the people that you meet.
