Bisnow Scoop: Epsilon Space Backfilled
Word on the street is that American Eagle Airlines signed a lease for the plug-and-play 150k SF in Epsilon's old property at 4301 and 4401 Regent Blvd in Las Colinas to occupy this summer. With pilot contract negotiations going poorly, this deal may signify more changes for the company including a new incarnation. But, we’d all like to be re-invented from time to time.
A source close to the deal tells us the significance of the deal is that huge furnished spaces, like EnCana in Legacy and Epsilon in Las Colinas, are opportunities for companies to make lighting quick decisions without any of the time required to get a space designed, built out, and furnished. Tenants can focus on all of the other costs and decisions needed to support a major relocation.
The American Eagle deal has been in and out of the market for almost five years and is now happening as Eagle’s parent company, American Airlines, emerges from bankruptcy, the source tells us. Cassidy Turley's Lauren Napper and Rodney Helm are leasing the property. Last fall, Lauren, along with John Boyle III and Greg Biggs, helped Epsilon ink a deal to move into Nokia's old digs in Las Colinas this coming July. Neither of them returned phone calls. Transwestern's Alan Harrington is said to be repping the tenant. He was mum on the deal, too.
