How to Woo Brokers

Placeholder

CBRE knows how to lure brokers for a tour: a bottle of bubbly and two Tiffany & Co champagne flutes. (That sounds like a first date... which means a lease would be like moving in together.) The space is the last full 25k SF vacant floor available at Tollway Plaza at 16000 North Dallas Tollway. Yesterday, we snapped the CBRE team: Tatum Waughtal and Shannon Brown (who are leasing the property), Cathy Kuebler (property manager), and property owner CBRE Global Investors – Strategic Partners’ Claudia Walraven. A big congrats to Tollway Plaza and Cathy; the building was one of Dallas BOMA's TOBY award winners in the suburban office park mid-rise category.

Here are (seated) Colliers’ Scott Hage, Travis Ewert, and Billy Vahrenkamp with Colliers’ Daniel Rudd, NAI Robert Lynn’s Nick Lee, and Colliers’ Allyson Gump. We were impressed with Billy and Allyson in their Valentine's red. Shannon tells us CBRE Global Investors purchased the property in 2012 and upgraded the shared conference room, the lobby, the deli, and the fitness center. There are spec suites available, too.

Here are more brokers snagging goodies for their significant others: CBRE’s Clay Vaughn, Transwestern’s Robert Deptula, and CBRE’s Ryan Turner and Peter Danna. You learn some fun stuff about brokers when you break bread with them. Our DFW reporter Tonie Auer had her seven degrees of separation moment with Clay. He’s a Waco native (Tonie went to Baylor), he attended UNT (where Tonie has season tickets to the men’s basketball program), and during college, he waited tables at Traildust Steakhouse (where Tonie and her husband may go for Valentine’s Day dinner). Beware what you tell reporters. We like to use it.
