Zales HQ Building First Acquisition For Furniture Company-Turned-Investor
Varidesk, a workforce furniture company known best for its standing desks, is trying its hand at property ownership.
The DFW-based company purchased the 424K SF former Zales HQ building at 901 West Walnut Hill Lane in Las Colinas. It intends to reimagine the three-story, Class-A building as a new office concept that will open this summer.
The newly dubbed Varispace Las Colinas is being redesigned by Corgan to have more amenities and increased connectivity to the outdoors. The renovation will activate the entry plaza and modernize the building, which was constructed in 1983.
“At Varidesk, we help businesses reimagine the office and create adaptable, active workspaces,” Varidesk co-founder and CEO Jason McCann said in a news release. “We see many possibilities for Varispace Las Colinas, as we explore how it could be repositioned.”
Varispace Las Colinas sits on 15.2 acres and includes a fitness center, a large cafeteria, conference facilities and a parking garage.
The floor plan configuration is highly efficient, making it easily adaptable for single or multi-tenant use, Varidesk said in the release.
Cushman & Wakefield Executive Managing Directors Johnny Johnson and Chris Taylor are helping with the redevelopment and will lease up the building.
“With all the companies moving to the Irving/Las Colinas area, this will be a great new option for start-ups and fast-growing companies who want a more modern, flexible office environment with amazing amenities,” McCann said in a statement.
