Granite's Bill Brown Talks FactorySix03
The way a space is finished out can create the vibe that attracts Millennials. One thing that demographic relates to is a funky workspace. At Bisnow's Creative Office event Tuesday, Granite Properties CIO Bill Brown said it’s almost impossible to describe, but you know it when you see it. As Millennials equal the number of Baby Boomers in the workforce, it’s time to transition to the amenity-rich environments they want.
Millennials are more environmentally sensitive and “digital natives”—attached to their electronic devices and working around the clock, Bill says. They also love unusual workspaces with exposed ceilings in old brick buildings, but those are harder to find in Dallas, where many of the oldest buildings were demolished. FactorySix03 in the West End is Granite’s effort toward creating a project that likely can’t be replicated across Texas. Bill says the location adjacent to Klyde Warren Park and Uptown, along with the brick and timber environment, make this unique. He says to expect to bring the outdoors in with rooftop decks, and look for announcements very soon for the properties immediately around FactorySix03.
