Mary Kay Selects Lewisville for R&D Complex
Beauty brand Mary Kay is planting a flag in Lewisville. Although it hasn't announced the exact location (pending the close of the land acquisition), it will build a $100M R&D facility in the Dallas suburb.
The proximity to the company’s other facilities was a factor in the decision to build in Lewisville, according to the Dallas Business Journal. The cosmetics giant is HQ'd in Addison, and has a distribution center in Carrollton and a warehouse in Dallas.
Mary Kay is building the new complex to replace its 50-year-old plant in north Dallas, where more than 1 million units of cosmetics are produced every day.
The project will break ground in July 2016 and be completed by 2018. [DBJ]
