Uptown Office Tower Gets New Name Following Expansion Of Texas Capital Bank Lease
Texas Capital Bank has secured naming rights for its Uptown Dallas headquarters following the execution of a 15-year lease agreement that expands the firm’s footprint to more than 200K SF.
The bank, which first moved its HQ to the Class-AA building upon its completion in 2008, plans to take up seven floors, including its existing banking center in the lobby, per a company news release. A block of floors in the middle of the tower will be built out, while the bank’s existing two floors will be renovated, per the release.
The 21-story tower, located at 2000 McKinney Ave., will be renamed Texas Capital Center as part of the expansion.
“We are reconfiguring Texas Capital Bank’s corporate real estate portfolio by creating a workplace experience that aligns with our values and culture,” Catherine Zalatoris, Texas Capital Bank’s executive vice president and head of corporate real estate, said in a statement. “We are an employer of choice that invests in our teams and workspaces to accommodate our continued growth, while fostering a new sense of workplace pride.”
The tower was acquired by German firm Union Investment Real Estate in 2016 for what was described by the Dallas Morning News as a “record purchase price” of $200M.
Construction on the expansion is expected to kick off early next year and be completed in phases through 2024, per the release.
