How Do You Tailgate?
In honor of all those Boomer Sooners and Longhorns who will be heading to Big D this weekend for the annual Red River Rivalry, we want to know how you tailgate for your teams. Here's a sampling of tailgating we've found: Colliers International’s Billy Vahrenkamp (who may be a TCU alum, but his Baylor ties run deep with his alum parents, grandparents, two brothers, and his wife (not to mention aunts and uncles) and the family have a Baylor sunshade along the banks of the Brazos River to tailgate before and after the games. Here’s Josh Vahrenkamp, Colliers’ Daniel Rudd, Billy, and Chad Vahrenkamp.
We snapped VERUS Real Estate Advisors CEO managing partner Greg Johnson (left, with colleague Greg Price) at the UNT-SMU game earlier this season. Greg tells us VERUS sponsored 1,000 at-risk kids in partnership with Communities in Schools to attend the last UNT home game. He also closed this week (repping the buyer) on a 40k SF manufacturing facility at 1512 I-35W just south of the split in Denton. Armadillo Ale Works Brewing Co is taking 20k SF with the other half for lease. He also completed acquisition and renovation of The Hogan Building in downtown Fort Worth at Houston and 8th. It originally housed golfer Ben Hogan’s family business, Hogan Office Supply. VERUS renovated it to its original design from a 1903-era photo.
Here's our DFW reporter, Tonie Auer, and her son, Robert, at the Baylor-Texas Tech game last year at JerryWorld. They tailgated with some tasty adult beverages for the grown-ups and some Gatorade for the boy, and tossed around the football. We want to know how YOU tailgate. Send your pics to tonie@bisnow.com
