$100M Dallas Chateau Sale Listing Could Shatter Record
Everything is bigger in Texas but this home on the market in Dallas redefines what that means when it comes to real estate.
Tom Hicks, who has owned several sports enterprises, currently owns the French chateau-style manse. The original price was $135M, but it's still up for grabs after a price-slash to $100M, according to MarketWatch.
If it closes at even nearly that much, the sale would more than triple the previous Texas home sale record of $30M in 2009.
The three-story house was designed by Swiss architect Maurice Fatio, and has a wine cellar, media room, exercise room and huge European-style kitchen. There is a garage that will fit seven cars.
If you feel a little cramped in the 50k SF of living space, there is also a 6k SF guesthouse and a 9k SF recreation building with a full-size theater in the basement. It has 11 fireplaces, 12 bathrooms and two “staff wings.” The home sprawls over 25 acres in one of Dallas’ most prestigious areas, Preston Hollow, where billionaires Kelcy Warren, Ross Perot and Mark Cuban all have homes. Should you choose to splash down for the most expensive single-family home ever to come to market in Texas, your neighbor will be George W. Bush. [MW]
