Mark Cuban Unveils New Practice Facility
Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban unveiled the NBA team's new practice facility last night. After purchasing the 41k SF property in the Design District—right across I-35 from the American Airlines Center—in June, Mark has mostly kept quiet about the relocation.
The $70M practice facility at the site of Community Beer Co's brewery and taproom has two courts and about 8k SF of office space for coaches and operations staff, but Mark says this is the first of many phases for the development.
The Mav's lease at the AAC runs until 2031. It's still unclear what the future will hold for this practice facility, but it seems likely that the NBA franchise will construct a ground-up arena on the 14-acre site in the next few years.
HKS Architects designed the facility and Austin Commercial constructed it.
