President Of Frisco Economic Development Corp. To Retire
Frisco Economic Development Corp. President Jim Gandy will retire in March after 21 years in his position. Gandy is credited with helping to spearhead Frisco's meteoric rise from small town to economic powerhouse, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Under Gandy's leadership, the Frisco EDC boosted the Frisco economy by $31B by drawing in 345 development projects in 25 years, according to a report by Insight Research Corp. Additionally, the tax base rose from $654.7M in 1991 (the inception of the FEDC) to $25B in 2015.
Gandy will serve as a special adviser to the FEDC until March 31, while the City of Frisco searches for his successor. Assistant City Manager Ron Patterson will assume Gandy's role in the interim.
