Aldi Plans 450 Stores Across Texas
Aldi’s is following in Walmart's footsteps in growing the discount chain, possibly to as many as 450 stores in Texas, reports the Dallas Morning News. Aldi is looking for more local suppliers and plans a March 18 event at the Denton distribution center to meet with potential vendors. Aldi leadership has said the chain anticipates opening 650 stores in the US by 2018 (bringing it to 2,000 stores nationwide). Texas has 89 stores. Traditional Aldi stores take about 17k SF.
