IKEA Makes Plans For Third DFW Store
Site plan of proposed IKEA Fort Worth
IKEA has yet to open its second store in DFW, but it is already planning the third location. The Swedish home goods store submitted a proposal to the city of Fort Worth for a 289k SF store on 27 acres.
It would break ground spring 2018 and deliver summer 2019. The store on the southwest corner of Tarrant Parkway and I-35W will have 900 parking spaces.
The store will have 10,000 exclusively designed items, 50 room settings, three model interiors, a kid’s play area and a 325-seat restaurant. It will create 500 jobs. IKEA gets 90% of its U.S. energy from renewable sources and will evaluate on-site power generation at this location.
The retailer’s Grand Prairie store will deliver this fall. Its first location is in Frisco.
