Luxury Store Transforms Into Walkable, Pedestrian-Friendly Place
Luxury specialty store Stanley Korshak has undergone extensive renovations in a bid to become more walkable and pedestrian-friendly.
The renovations are part of a $65M exterior renovation of the Crescent hotel, office and retail complex uptown. Stanley Korshak has been in the Crescent since it was built in 1986 and owned by Crawford Brock since 2002, who operated the store for the prior 15 years. As part of the renovations, each side of the store now has 150 linear feet of windows that display the retailer’s luxury fashions and will be changed frequently, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Brock was seeking a more walkable, pedestrian-friendly space and accomplished that with new pedestrian pathways cut through landscaping. The overall plan for the Crescent’s renovation includes a park area with a Shake Shack and a new outdoor courtyard. Retailers in the area continue to look at renovations with an eye towards remaining relevant. Just last week, the new owners of The Shops at Willow Bend announced plans for a $100M makeover. [DMN]
