Big Risks Bring Big Rewards For DFW Women Leading Real Estate
This year, Bisnow’s annual Dallas-Fort Worth Women Leading Real Estate event highlights the industry’s rising stars, the ones who “take huge risks in an effort to grow,” in the words of one of our honorees.
Whether they started their own shop, have risen through the ranks of an established company, made a name as a champion of diversity and inclusion or sustainability, or are an all-around industry innovator, these 20 influential leaders from all sectors of the commercial real estate world are an integral part of DFW’s explosive growth.
This year’s cohort celebrates developers, personnel professionals, women in financial services, and sales and leasing dynamos. It also highlights women making a name for themselves in operations and asset management as well as those redefining construction, engineering, architecture and design.
All of them have done so in a changing but still male-dominated industry, especially at the boardroom and executive levels. Women made up 23.5% of the highest-ranking executives at the country's largest commercial real estate firms, according to Bisnow’s most recent industry analysis in 2021.
“When you spend a large part of your life at work, you want to feel that sense of accomplishment and to feel like you’re leaving a legacy,” 2022 honoree Aarica Mims of KDC Real Estate Development and Investments said. “I want the women who come behind me to see that the sky is the limit for what they can achieve.”
This year’s DFW rising stars, profiled below, will be honored at a Nov. 10 event that will recognize their achievements while promoting the importance of employing and developing viable career paths for women in CRE via education, networking and resources for professional development.
