Denver One Of The Most Recession-Recovered Cities

The Great Recession might have started nearly a decade ago, but its impact lingers in some places. Not so for cities like Denver, which is among the Top 10 recession-recovered cities, according to a study by WalletHub

To measure the progress of local economies since the panic of 2008 and how much work remains to be done, the company compared 505 U.S. cities of varying sizes across 18 economic indicators. The data set included “inflow of college-educated workers,” “share of households receiving public assistance” and “homeownership rate.”

Among all the cities, Denver was No. 10. (Midland, Texas, came in first.) Among large U.S. cities, Denver was No. 2, after Austin. Least recovered? San Bernardino, Calif.
