Denver Investor Bags Big Island Resort
A JV of Denver hotel developer Silverwest Hotel Partners and Mariner Real Estate Management and Global Endowment Management acquired the 555-room Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa, according to the Denver Business Journal. Blackstone sold the property on Hawaii's Big Island for an unspecified price. Silverwest is a relatively new player, formed in 2013 by Edward Mace and Charles Peck. Currently it's developing the 113-room Element by Westin and the 88-room Hampton Inn and Suites in Basalt and Silverthrone, respectively.
