Denver Investor Doubles Money on UK Hotels
Denver-based KSL Capital Partners sold two boutique hotel chains in the UK, a total of 29 properties. The hotels fetched $571M, or twice the price that the company paid to acquire them just over two years ago. Frasers Hospitality of Singapore, a company in the "serviced apartments" business, bought the Malmaison and Hotel du Vin (one of which, in Birmingham, England, is pictured) chains from the private equity firm, the Denver Business Journal reports. Malmaison operates 13 properties, mostly in historic buildings, while Hotel du Vin has 16 hotels in England and Scotland. [DBJ]
