Gaylord Rockies Hotel Hopes to Keep Subsidies
Construction began this week on the Gaylord Rockies Hotel, a 1,500-room hotel and conference center in Aurora. The project has a planned opening targeted for Thanksgiving 2018, according to the developer, Houston-based RIDA Development Corp. The move might make it harder for opponents to overturn state tax incentives backing the project, the Denver Post reports. In October, the Colorado Economic Commission green-lighted a more than $81M subsidy for it. [DP]
