Westin DIA Wants to Dominate Denver Meeting Business
The Westin Denver International Airport now has an official opening date, Nov. 19, and hotel GM Tom Curley tells us why the property's going to be important for Denver.
“Meetings today seem to be shorter and the booking lead time also continues to get shorter, with companies looking for more efficient ways to hold meetings," Tom says. The Westin DIA's in a position to grab some of that business due to the fact meeting attendees would be at most a four-hour flight from anywhere in the continental US.
Also, Tom says, there hasn't been a new in-terminal hotel built in the country for 10 years, so the Westin DIA, with its new meeting facilities, will be in a position to take full advantage of hosting fly-in, fly-out meetings for companies looking to maximize the time needed for training, new product launches and so on. The 519-room hotel will have more than 37k SF of meeting space.
