Vail Resorts Plans Improvements At Breckenridge, Vail
On the heels of better-than-expected Q2 earnings, Vail Resorts says it's planning improvements to its Breckenridge and Vail ski areas. The company will build a new 500-seat restaurant at the top of the Peak 7 chairlift at Breckenridge and upgrade the Sun Up chairlift at Vail Mountain (Chair 17), from a fixed grip triple to a high-speed four-passenger chairlift, the Denver Business Journal reports.
Vail Resorts has seen much improvement compared to last year: total lift revenue increased more than 20%; visitor growth is up more than 12%, food and beverage revenue is up more than 15%, and ski school revenue increased more than 8%. [DBJ]
