Construction Defects Reform Back In '16?
Now that the Colorado legislature is back in session, the problem of construction defects reform will probably come up again. The question is whether lawmakers will get any further than they did in 2015. Since the failure to act last year, a dozen communities—including Colorado's three largest cities—have made it harder for homeowners to sue for faulty building practices, the Denver Post reports. But it isn't clear than these local initiatives are encouraging condo development, since developers seem to be waiting to see what the legislature is going to do. [DP]
