Construction-Defects Reform No-Go, Other Housing Bills May Pass
Construction-defects reform, which would get condo development rolling in Colorado, is dead in the Colorado Legislature again for this year, but a three-bill affordable-housing package is still a possibility, the Denver Business Journal reports.
The bills would extend a housing tax credit for owners of low-income housing developments; create tax-free savings accounts that can be used for down payments or closing costs on first homes; and take $40M from the unclaimed property trust fund and put $30M toward low-income rental support and $10M toward assistance in helping people purchase affordable homes.
