IKEA Plans Second Colorado Store

Placeholder

Retailer IKEA, which came to Colorado five years ago, says it has found a site in Broomfield for a potential second store in the state. The existing 415k SF store, marked in characteristic blue and gold, has been a hit in Centennial, where it opened in summer 2011.

"A store in this retail corridor would complement our strong presence established in Centennial and eventually provide customers in the northern part of the Front Range an IKEA store closer to them," IKEA US president Lars Petersson told the Denver Business Journal.

The Swedish retailer is looking at a 123-acre parcel 17 miles north of Downtown Denver, at the intersection of I-25 and East Baseline Road (Colorado Highway 7). It does not have a timetable for the development of the store. [DBJ]
