Downtown Booms... What Now?
Pardon our frank question: Now that Downtown Denver is booming, how do we not blow this? We're excited to bring together some of the top real estate minds to tell us their ideas at Bisnow's Future of Downtown event on Oct. 15.
Gensler managing director Jon Gambrill, who's speaking, says that in the rush to grow, Downtown Denver needs to maintain its focus on the pedestrian environment—creating people spaces around the built environment. “More importantly, we’re also going to have to shift our focus to maintaining and updating our older inventory of buildings," especially in light of the changing way we work and the mobile workforce. (That is, buildings need to keep up with the influx of tech-savvy whippersnappers who want to work Downtown.)
Jon was sure to point out the good news. He tells us there’s no question that the strive for work/life balance and the Colorado healthy lifestyle is a huge attraction for residents and businesses. Also, the city’s focus on light rail connectivity to DIA and key projects, such as the Union Station Development, are making Downtown Denver more accessible and desirable. Not to mention the Brighton Boulevard corridor. Hear more from Jon and our other top-notch panelists, starting 7:30am at the Sheraton Denver Downtown. Great networking, too. Sign up here!
