Boulder's Got Livability
Livability.com released its Top 100 Most Livable Cities in America, evaluating more than 2,000 mid-sized and small cities (sorry, Denver, you’re out) and ranked them in eight categories: economics, housing, amenities, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, education, and healthcare. Boulder came in at no. 4, behind Madison, Wis; Rochester, Minn; and Arlington, Va, but beating a trio of California places: Palo Alto, Berkeley, and Santa Clara. Other Colorado cities in the top 100 were Fort Collins (24), Lakewood (34), and Westminster (75). We like to think Boulder got a few points for holding good fests, such as the Boulder Creek Festival (pictured), and as the adopted home of Mork.
