Barnes & Noble to Leave Downtown
Barnes & Noble is leaving the Denver Pavilions shopping center at the end of the year.
Currently it occupies more than 27k SF and serves as one of the anchors of the mall, which is owned by Gart Properties. Though the bookseller has been in that location since the property opened in 1998, it doesn't bring in enough sales to justify the current rent.
The Japanese-based fashion retailer Uniqlo will take its place, which Gart expects to generate three to four times the sales volume. [BD]
