Dunton Buys Huron Plaza In Thornton
Dunton Commercial has acquired the 112,808 SF Huron Plaza retail center in Thornton.
The acquisition is the first for Dunton under its new ownership group.
“The principals of Dunton each have significant investment experience, but this is especially exciting since it is our first acquisition as Dunton Commercial,” Dunton President Taylor Fenn said. “In addition to a strategic partnership with Westside Investment Partners, our investors on this acquisition include clients of our third-party property management business, a testament to our quality of service on the property management side.”
Huron Plaza is a value-add property a half-mile west of Interstate 25 on 84th Avenue and Huron Street. The property, anchored by a Save-A-Lot grocery store, was 63% leased at the time of the acquisition.
“This was an off-market opportunity that was referred to us by Matt Henrichs of the CBRE national retail investment group,” Dunton Director of Investments Nate Melchior said. “It fits very well with our investment strategy. There is significant upside and a great mix of in-place tenants. The opportunity to acquire infill, quality, value-add retail in Denver is hard to come by.”
