LinkedIn To Open Downtown Detroit Office
LinkedIn plans to open an office in Downtown Detroit and do some hiring. The career and employment website has not finalized an exact location — that will come in 2018, the Detroit News reports.
The Sunnyvale, California-based company has about 10,000 employees and offices in 30 cities around the world. In planning to open a new office, it examined 10 candidate cities.
LinkedIn plans to hire its first Detroit employees, who will work in temporary office space, in the next few months. How much permanent space the company will take has not been determined.
"We chose Detroit because we believe the Motor City presents a unique opportunity for LinkedIn to hire top talent and be a part of an exciting economic turnaround story," LinkedIn Senior Vice President of Global Solutions Mike Gamson said in a statement.
