Owner Of Lagan Construction Group Is Now €526M Richer
One of Ireland's biggest building materials companies has been sold to U.K. construction company Breedon Group for €526M (£455M).
Lagan employs approximately 750 people across nine quarries, nine ready-mixed concrete plants, 13 asphalt plants and a cement plant in Kinnegad County Westmeath.
The acquisition of the Belfast-based firm will be financed by new loans and equity and will give Breedon a foot-hold in the Irish market, according to the Irish Examiner.
In 2017 Lagan had revenues of £249M and net earnings of £46M.
