Ruben Rathnasingham has more than 15 years of biomedical leadership experience in several companies founded on technologies invented and developed in academic institutions. In his current role as the assistant dean for health product innovation at Dell Medical School, he is responsible for creating and growing initiatives to support health-related translational research at UT Austin. Most recently, he was associate director of early translational research at the University of California, San Francisco, where he helped develop and led the UCSF Catalyst Program that successfully leveraged industry partners to help identify, support and translate technologies through and out of the university. Prior to his tenure in academia, Rathnasingham co-founded and grew a number of health care companies including StrataGent Life Sciences, where he helped develop a needle-free, wearable infusion pump that was honored with a 2010 Edison Award for Best New Product.

Norman H. Chenven, M.D., is a Family Physician and the Founding Chief Executive Officer of Austin Regional Clinic (ARC), a 380 physician multi-specialty medical group that serves the greater Austin metropolitan area with 33 clinical locations. ARC provides care to approximately 550,000 Central Texans in fourteen cities and four counties. Dr. Chenven developed Covenant Management Systems (CMS) in 1999, a practice management company, third party administrator and management services organization that provides technical support and services to hospitals, medical groups, provider networks and governmental and employer based health plans. He received his undergraduate degree in physics from Brown University, medical degree from the State University of New York Medical Science Center in Brooklyn and post graduate training at Bexar County Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He spent 2 years on a Navajo Reservation as General Medical Officer in Indian Health Service. He started his career in Austin as an Emergency Room Physician at Brackenridge, Austin, and subsequently founded Austin Regional Clinic.

A transformational business strategist and influential senior healthcare executive for billion-dollar integrated health systems, Dr. Raymond Anderson has played a key role in transforming underperforming networks and programs into thriving healthcare organizations. At PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), he rebuilt the healthcare advisory services division for academic medicine and life science practices. He also spearheaded an industry-disruptive economic diversification initiative for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, designing a lead tissue repository and proteomic and genomics business plan that established the facility as the central hub for the European Union. Dr. Anderson was instrumental in transforming Ascension Texas into a multibillion-dollar enterprise through strategic program growth, Nextgen technologies, and performance management. He also led the turnaround of Seton Healthcare Family before it was rebranded under the Ascension family, positioning it as the top regional referral center for high-acuity cases. Additionally, Dr. Anderson was also responsible for Ascension Health’s first enterprise-wide strategy with an aligned collective of markets, as well as the organization’s foray into value-based care during the CMS-driven market shift. He currently serves as Ascension’s Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for the Austin and Waco areas, where he leads a large-scale organization in strategic planning, business development, physician relations, clinical service line management, and strategic implementation and business integration. A mission-driven community member, Dr. Anderson serves on many influential boards and professional organizations to advance the healthcare industry. He is currently an active member of Ascension Texas / Dell Medical School’s Joint Conference Council, nonprofit Capital City Innovation for the development of Austin, and the Opportunity Austin Council Economic Development Arm of the Austin Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives. He has also co-authored several publications on patient care models and scientific findings. Dr. Anderson holds a Master of Business Administration in health sector management from Duke University, a Doctor of Philosophy in biological chemistry from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and French. He currently resides in the greater Austin area with his wife and two daughters.

Meredith currently serves as President & CEO of TXM holdings, a newly created health subsidiary of Texas Mutual Insurance Company. Prior to joining TXM Holdings, Meredith served as President of the Texas Market at Bright HealthCare, where she launched the company’s individual insurance plan in Texas and held various roles at CVS/Aetna, including Chief Growth Officer for Aetna’s Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico markets with responsibility for Aetna’s commercial group business. Meredith also spent nearly 8 years at Ascension Seton Texas, where she last served as CEO of Seton Insurance Company and VP of Accountable Care and Physician Engagement. Meredith has over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, consumer market research, sales and business development, and operations management and held leadership roles at Information Resources, The Strategy Group, Dreyer’s/Edy’s Ice cream, and Kaiser Permanente Southern California. Meredith holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters in Public Health from UCLA. She has served on several community organization board roles and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Austin Healthcare Council Board of Directors.

As an Executive Director at Gemdale USA, Élan Matlovsky leads leasing and asset management for the California and Texas Office Development Teams. He is responsible for asset management and leasing oversight of Gemdale’s development portfolio as well as engaging architects, brokerage teams, marketing/branding companies, property management firms and market analytic groups to assist with the execution of development strategies. Mr. Matlovsky also works closely with acquisitions for project underwriting, market analysis and product positioning. Mr. Matlovsky brings over 16 years of commercial real estate experience to the team in asset management, property management, transaction services, redevelopment and leasing. Since joining Gemdale, he has led the successful negotiation of a 535K SF life science lease in San Diego as well as the highest psf office sale in the history of Hollywood, CA. Prior to joining Gemdale USA, Mr. Matlovsky was the leasing director for SteelWave, Inc. where he was responsible for leasing, marketing, and asset management for over 3M of Southern California office assets and involved in the purchases and sales of over $800M of assets. Mr. Matlovsky studied Biomedical Engineering at Boston University and serves as co-chair for the Los Angeles Commercial Realty Association (LACRA) board.

Justin serves as Executive Managing Director of Transwestern’s Healthcare & Life Sciences Advisory Services Group and leads the Houston Healthcare & Life Sciences Brokerage Team. With 12 dedicated professionals, the Team leases over 6 million square feet of clinical & lab space, more than any other local firm, and has transacted over 2,000 lease and building sales in the last 5 years. Meet Mike Toftely, a dynamic leader with over two decades of experience in healthcare construction management. With a strong passion for his work, Mike established his own consulting company, Toftely Construction Services (TCS), in 2008. His most recent experience was serving as the Director of Construction for one of the major Healthcare systems in California. For this client, Mike successfully oversaw numerous projects in their adult hospital, and most recently a $1.5 Billion capital improvement program modernizing their adult hospital. Kurt’s professional engineering career spans over 40 years. His expertise includes structural engineering design for Mission Critical Facilities such as Data Centers, Health Care Facilities such as Hospitals and Clinics and Life Sciences Facilities such as Biopharmaceutical Pilot Plants and Production Facilities around the United States and the World. His area of expertise is in designing buildings to be occupable after natural disasters including Tornados, Hurricanes and Earthquakes. He has been the structural engineer of record for conventional “fixed Base Buildings” ranging from 1-23 stories, “Base Isolated Buildings” ranging from 1-5 stories, and the retrofit and new construction of buildings incorporating Fluid Viscous Dampers ranging from 1-22 stories. He has published numerous papers on passive energy dissipation and presented the findings at various conventions in Boston, San Francisco and Milan. For over 23 years as the Founding Principal at PARADIGM Structural Engineers, Kurt spends most of his time developing new leaders at PARADIGM and mentoring staff in Chicago and San Francisco.

As Director of Real Estate Facilities, Steven Donnelly provides leadership in all facets of real estate property management and lease administration for all administrative facilities and ambulatory clinics. In this role he supports and assists in implementing corporate real estate and clinical facilities development strategies throughout Bexar County as University Health continues its mission to serve the community. Steven graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a Bachelor of Environmental Design. He started his career in the design and construction department working on capital projects for the World Trade Center in Dallas. From there, he spent 9 years working with large construction contractors building healthcare projects. Eventually, Steven joined a large real estate company where he developed healthcare real estate and acted as Owner’s Representative for healthcare projects ranging from medical office and outpatient facilities to large acute care hospitals. He has dedicated his career to healthcare development working on over 2 million SF valued at of $1 billion dollars. Steven is currently a volunteer on the Architectural Review Committee for the Alamo Ranch Communities. He started the Clays for Camps at Children’s Health that has raised over $1 million since it started in 2013. Steven regularly speaks at healthcare real estate conferences and has been published several times. Steven moved to San Antonio in 2006. In 2014, he married his wife Valeska, and combined they have seven children and one grandchild.

Lee McKenna joined Stream in 2018 and serves as Senior Vice President within the firm’s San Antonio healthcare team. Lee’s primary responsibilities include project leasing, development, investment sales, and tenant representation. He brings with him over 12 years of healthcare industry experience with various roles in operations, finance, and strategy. Lee’s healthcare team represents over 2 million square feet in more than 20 medical office buildings across the San Antonio market and surrounding communities. The portfolio consists of medical properties in every medical sub-market in the area with ownership ranging from locally physician owners to national private equity and publicly traded Real Estate Investment Trusts. Prior to joining Stream, Lee was VP of Operations for the San Antonio-based start-up, Ranger Health/FetchMD, a technology-backed healthcare services platform. In addition, Lee served as Director of Strategic Initiatives at Tenet/Baptist Health System in San Antonio where he led projects in innovative bundled payment, managed the cardiovascular service line, and oversaw all inpatient transfers, admissions, and census management. Lee began his career in the United States Air Force as a health care administrator in the Medical Service Corps.

Natale Stephens, AIA, EDAC, is an Associate Principal and Senior Healthcare Planner at Page. Natale engages in a balanced approach between industry best practices and innovative design that pushes the need for evolution in building technology, care delivery, and facility operations. Natale co-leads the behavioral health workgroup at Page, and engages in research, mentorship, as well as authoring articles and white papers on the impact of the environment on behavior, health, and well-being.

With 18 years of healthcare experience, Amanda Stephens has a wealth of diverse experience in the healthcare setting. Currently Amanda serves as the Administrative Director of Operations for Methodist Hospital Specialty & Transplant in San Antonio. As part her responsibilities she oversees Facilities Management, Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition Services, Emergency Management, Security, capital construction and the MOB for the hospital. Amanda holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters in Emergency and Disaster Management. She also serves as the Chair of the Young Professionals Committee, Co-Chair for the Education Committee, and the Region 8 Director for the Texas Association of Healthcare Facilities Management (TAHFM). Amanda also serves as a member of the ASHE Student Task Force. Throughout her career, Amanda has served time as an Army Medic, roles of bedside patient care in various settings, as well as direct involvement in Emergency Management and Facilities Management.

Leading TEAL’s sales and marketing efforts across North America, Jake is a LEED Accredited Professional and industry native with over two decades of business development and strategic consultancy experience. As Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Jake spearheads TEAL’s strategies for nationwide growth. Jake’s career in the commercial HVAC and construction management fields started early. He grew up working for his father’s HVAC manufacturer representative firm in Dallas and later moved to an Account Executive role in 2000. With his creative strategies and passion for growth, Jake was named Vice President at Texas AirSystems in 2010. Prior to joining the TEAL team in February 2020, Jake immersed himself in a wide variety of vertical markets and trades as an independent strategic consultant for private equity firms investing in commercial HVAC and construction services, cementing the big-picture approaches and industry insight he brings to his relationships at TEAL.
