DICE Midwest 2019 Post-Event Cocktail Reception: Cocktails & Hors d'Oeuvres!
DICE Midwest 2019
DICE Midwest | Data Center Investment Conference & Expo, Midwest
Join us for our annual Data Center Investment Conference & Expo (DICE) Midwest!
As the pinnacle of the Midwest, the Chicago data center market remains the fourth-largest in North America. In 2018, the region boasted 243 MW of inventory -- a staggering 16.6 MW increase from the previous year. Furthermore, according to JLL's "2018 Data Center Outlook Report," Chicago experienced 39.5 MW of net absorption, trailing behind Dallas, Phoenix and Northern Virginia.
Why the Midwest?
-Cost-Efficiency: The region's lower energy costs attribute to generous savings for colocation tenants
-Tax Incentives: States like Iowa, Ohio and Indiana have passed tax bills to spur data center growth
-Location: Nestled between both coasts, the Midwest's central location offers a reliable alternative to more densely populated hubs
-Reliable Data Storage: The region's network-dense, low-latency connectivity is attractive to regional enterprise end-users
Topics will Include:
1. What will be the impact of the region's latest data center tax bills?
2. How will increased power density and cooling capacity impact site selection?
3. As end user demands shift, how will the growing use of outsourced IT services drive demand for off-premise data centers and onto the cloud?
4. How will the Internet of Things and AI impact data center demand?
5. With deployments becoming more dense and compact, what are hyperscalers and cloud providers doing to be more sustainable?
6. What do the growth of micro data centers, 5G and Edge Computing innovations mean for today’s data center requirements?
