Jeff Handlin founded Oread Capital & Development in 2011. Prior to founding Oread Capital & Development, Mr. Handlin served in executive roles at recognized national homebuilding and real estate development companies including: Founding Partner of Starwood Land Ventures; Officer and National Vice President for M.D.C. Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Richmond American Homes; and Vice President with Taylor Woodrow (currently known as Taylor Morrison). At M.D.C. Holdings, Mr. Handlin managed all acquisitions company-wide, representing over 12,000 residential lots across the U.S. between 2009 and 2011, with acquisition costs over $600 Million. Also while at M.D.C., Mr. Handlin led the acquisition of SDC Homes, at the time the third-largest homebuilder in the Seattle market. Beginning in 2007, prior to his time at M.D.C., Mr. Handlin was a founding partner in Starwood Land Ventures, based in Bradenton, Florida. Mr. Handlin led all Florida acquisitions while at Starwood Land, representing over $100 Million in direct acquisitions, including the acquisition of substantially all the Florida assets of Tousa-Engle Homes from its bankruptcy estate. Upon receiving a J.D. from Duke University, and prior to his work as a land development and homebuilding executive, Mr. Handlin began his legal career at the law firm of Carlton Fields in Tampa, Florida, where he focused on real estate development, finance, and homeowners association law. Mr. Handlin graduated cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Kansas. Mr. Handlin is a member of the ULI’s National Community Development Council and ULI’s Colorado Community Development Council. Mr. Handlin strongly supports education; he serves as an adjunct professor at the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver; and continues to serve on various boards at the University of Kansas.

Mr. Cutter is currently Senior Managing Director, overseeing Legacy’s Colorado’s activities. His 25 years of real estate experience in Colorado is varied, and encompasses multiple sides of the multifamily market. Mr. Cutter’s background is in design, spending 18 years owning and managing an architectural firm centered on housing, followed by two years developing on-campus housing for small universities in the Midwest with Knosis LLC. In his 7 years with Legacy, Mr. Cutter has overseen project completions in The Golden Triangle, City of Denver and Westminster. Currently Legacy has over 1,200 units in the pipeline including Legacy at Fitz (Aurora), Araceli DTC (Denver Tech Center), Legacy Metro 525 (Aurora), and 2040 S. Colorado Blvd (Denver). Mr. Cutter earned dual degrees in Architecture and Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.

Carl Koelbel is currently working at Koelbel & Company where he carries on a three-generation tradition of real estate development in the Denver Metro area. His primary focus is on development of land currently held by the firm as well as identifying and securing future development opportunities. Additionally, he started the Koelbel Urban Homes division which focuses on developing for-sale, infill homes. He also works extensively developing affordable housing in Colorado. In just over 9 years Koelbel and Company will have delivered close to 700 units of affordable housing in nine different projects with more to come. He also manages major projects for Koelbel including the Catalyst office building along Brighton Blvd. and the redevelopment of Regatta Plaza in Aurora. Carl received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Before receiving his M.B.A., he was a Research Associate at the Urban Land Institute in Washington, D.C. At U.L.I. he assisted the Senior Resident Fellows in various research projects with a focus on infrastructure and its effect on land use patterns. He has a B.A. in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southern California and is an avid skier, golfer, and tennis player. He is always thankful of the support of his wife Fallon and three children, Harper, Reagan, and Presley.

Robert Knisley serves as a Managing Director and Market Leader heading up operations for Transwestern’s Denver office. He is focused on elevating and innovating client services, attracting new talent, building market presence, and strengthening business development for the firm and the team. CAREER HIGHLIGHTS Robert brings more than 20 years of extensive commercial real estate experience to Transwestern, with a heavy focus on institutional landlord representation and project leasing in the Denver market. This knowledge base, coupled with his team-oriented mindset and deep ties to the community, equip him to build long-standing relationships with colleagues, owners, tenants, brokers and business leaders throughout Colorado. Robert began his career at Fuller Real Estate, a boutique company with local roots, where he was a shareholder. Through a series of acquisitions, he gained experience in agency leasing, tenant advisory and asset services at several large global services firms. He most recently served as First Vice President at CBRE, overseeing an office portfolio of more than 15 million square feet. While Robert is deeply involved in the Denver real estate market, he is also dedicated to serving the community. He coached lacrosse for several local youth teams, in addition to the Regis Jesuit High School team. When he’s not coaching, Robert volunteers with many of Denver’s local charities including I Have A Dream Foundation and the Mile High Weimaraner Rescue Foundation. John is on the acquisitions team at Rising Realty Partners and is responsible for supervising the underwriting of prospective investment opportunities, pipeline management, and the creation of strategic business plans, as well as performing market research over transaction, leasing, and capital markets activity. John also collaborates with lenders, legal counsel, and third-party service providers during the acquisition due diligence process. Prior to working at Rising, John was a Senior Associate at KPMG, where he reviewed and executed the fair value analysis for over $3 billion of trophy office properties, developments, multi-family developments, and industrial properties for private equity real estate funds. John earned his bachelor’s in business economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He also has a Certified Public Accountant license (inactive) in California. John’s main interests and hobbies outside of work include skiing, rock climbing, and golf.

Lainie P. Minnick joined Black Creek Group in 2007. She currently serves as the Head of Debt Capital Markets, responsible for overseeing the development and management of corporate and property level financing and interest rate hedging strategies and lending relationships for Black Creek Group’s lending platforms. In addition, Ms. Minnick serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Black Creek Diversified Property Fund Inc., overseeing financial reporting and forecasting, treasury management, application of NAV policies and procedures, accounting, tax compliance, and other related areas of responsibilities. Ms. Minnick has overseen the execution of over $10.0 billion of financings for Black Creek Group since 2007. Prior to joining Black Creek Group, Ms. Minnick was a Project Executive for Urban Villages Inc., a Denver- based real estate development firm. She was previously with Goldman Sachs, most recently as Vice President working exclusively with Whitehall Funds, a series of global real estate opportunity funds. Based in both New York and London, Ms. Minnick was responsible for executing real estate related financing transactions throughout the U.S. and Europe. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Ms. Minnick worked for the Archon Group, a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, where she was responsible for real estate related portfolio management and loan asset management efforts. Ms. Minnick holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Pat Rippe is a member of the portfolio optimization team where he leverages his previous experience with strategy development, project management, leasing and operations. He is a member of the firm's Innovation Committee and is located in the Denver office. Prior to Pennybacker, Pat led asset management and development for Tishman Speyer in Southern California where he was responsible for developing and implementing asset strategy for a portfolio comprising 11 assets totaling 3 million square feet of Class A creative office space. In this role, Pat led several major redevelopments and renovations of these assets, oversaw leasing and property management, coordinated debt strategies, and managed partner relationships. Pat originally joined Tishman Speyer out of business school as a member of the Leadership Development Program and was then promoted to director in the New York development group. In this role, he was responsible for underwriting and managing major development and redevelopment projects including office, hospitality, and multifamily. Prior to business school, Pat spent 5 years with JLL as a member of the development and asset strategy group in Chicago and as a member of the tenant representation group in Los Angeles where he specialized in office leasing. Pat holds an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan where he graduated with distinction. Pat holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a dual major in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Missouri where he graduated cum laude.

Damian Ederhoff is a certified public accountant with more than 30 years of construction and real estate accounting experience. He has expertise with assurance, tax and consulting engagements for companies in all stages of business. This combined experience allows Damian the ability to provide his clients with holistic consulting in areas such as succession planning and mergers and acquisitions. Damian regularly attends key construction-related conferences and events in addition to presenting on contractor operational best practices. His personal time is devoted to service activities related to his deep love of sports, principally coaching youth sports, and officiating college football.
