A former paramedic with more than 30 years of clinical experience Paul has held healthcare leadership positions in diverse areas of operational and clinical performance improvement, care model innovation, education, clinical research and disaster and mass gathering management. Paul came to BCH in 2018 as the Chief Strategy Officer after serving as the COO of Evolution Health where he designed and implemented their population health programs. Over his career Paul has served as the Medical Director for several EMS agencies, air and ground critical care transport services, and several public safety agencies including the Austin Fire, Police, and EMS Departments and the Texas Department of Pubic Safety. Paul grew up in a suburb of New York City and completed medical school and his MBA at the University at Buffalo. He completed his residency and served as Chief Resident at the University of North Carolina and continued with an EMS Fellowship becoming board certified in both Emergency Medicine and EMS. Paul and his wife Sarah come to Boulder from Raleigh North Carolina. His son Matthew is completing his MBA at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Paul enjoys teaching, hiking, skiing and working around the house. The former Medical Director of the National Association of EMTs (NAEMT) he continues to volunteer his time as the Medical Director for the NAEMT Safety Course and nationally on EMS related committees and advocating for EMS and healthcare innovation.

Kimberly Muller is the Director of Technology Transfer at the University of Colorado serving the Denver and Anschutz Medical campuses. Kimberly joined the University of Colorado in June 2015 with more than 15 years of experience in intellectual property management, licensing, research partnerships with corporations, and the formation of venture capital-financed startup companies. Kimberly was formerly the Deputy Director of the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute (YEI), and Associate Director of New Ventures at Yale University in the Office of Cooperative Research. Yale’s Office of Cooperative Research has started more than 70 new ventures that have raised $ 5 billion in investor capital. Previously, Kimberly managed the intellectual property and licensing for Curagen Corporation (acquired by Celldex Therapeutics), and was co-founder of Arbor Fuel, a biofuel company that utilized recombinant microorganisms for the production of ethanol and butanol. Kimberly began her career in New York as a patent attorney for Chadbourne and Parke, LLP and Morgan & Finnegan, LLP where her practice focused on pharmaceutical patent litigation. Kim has a graduate degree in genetics from the University of Connecticut and earned her Juris Doctorate with honors from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in both New York and Connecticut.

Diane Reinhard, DNP, MBA, MSCIS, RN, CRRN, NE-BC, is Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer. She received her BSN from the University of Denver in 1985, MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2001, and M.S. in Computer Information Systems from University of Phoenix in 2001. Diane received her Doctorate in Nursing - Executive Leadership from the American Sentinel University in 2013. Diane holds professional certification in Healthcare Finance and is Board certified in Rehabilitation Nursing and Executive Nursing. Diane has been in the field since 1982, and has been at Craig Hospital since 1990. She manages utilization of human, fiscal, and material resources allocated to nursing, food services, pharmacy, nursing education, patient/family education, infection control, Nurse Advice Line and quality departments. She continues to be active in local and national professional Boards of Directors.

Brian Betner focuses his practice on the representation of health systems, hospitals and other health care providers in a broad range of regulatory, operational and strategic matters. These include an emphasis on physician alignment; clinically integrated arrangements; fraud and abuse compliance counseling including OIG/CMS self-disclosure representation; and medical staff governance, credentialing and peer review issues. Brian is particularly interested in matters related to Affordable Care Act implementation by health care providers and regularly speaks and publishes on matters related to health care reform and its impact on hospitals and physicians. He recently completed his term as Vice Chair of the Medical Staff, Credentialing, and Peer Review Practice Group of the American Health Lawyers Association, the nation's largest organization dedicated to legal issues in the health care industry. Brian has taught for several years at the Indiana University School of Medicine and School of Public Health in the area of health care administration and is on the board of the Heroes Foundation, a local cancer research and support organization. He graduated from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and completed the Health Law Concentration with Honors while receiving the Outstanding Health Law Student Award. While in law school, he was the Executive Articles Editor and one of the founding members of the Indiana Health Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Brian served in the U.S. Navy.

Michelle Brokaw is the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Fleisher Smyth Brokaw LLC. She is responsible for the firm's strategic direction, investment strategy, investor relations, and capital sourcing. Ms. Brokaw's real estate career spans more than twenty years and includes experience in commercial real estate acquisition, development, finance, leasing, and asset management. Michelle began working for Fleisher Smyth Company in 1992 and purchased the company from Donald Fleisher and Clark Smyth in 2004 after 15 years with the firm. Early in her career, Michelle worked at the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), focusing on troubled real estate assets left behind by the 1980's Savings and Loan debacle and disposing of some of the most difficult real estate assets in the RTC portfolio. During her career at FSB, Michelle was directly involved or responsible for the acquisition or development of over 40 properties totaling more than 2,000,000 square feet of medical office, office, mixed-use, industrial, retail, and multi-family projects. Moreover, she has collaborated in raising more than $50 million in equity and obtaining more than $150 million in debt, assembling a portfolio valued at more than $200 million. She was a founding member of CREW Denver, Commercial Real Estate Women and elected Chairperson of the organization at age 27. In 2001 she was selected by the Denver Business Journal as a recipient of its prestigious 40 under 40 award. Also in 2001, she served as chair of Brokers Benefiting Kids which has now raised over $2,000,000 to benefit Colorado's children at-risk. She is a member of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Ms. Brokaw has been a licensed real estate broker in the State of Colorado since 1989. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, Boulder where she majored in real estate and minored in finance and she holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration with a finance emphasis from the University of Denver.

As Senior Project Executive within Banner Health, Kyle supports the team that manages renovations and new construction throughout the Western Division. Kyle is the founder of Ripple Intent, a non-profit group that leads events focused on improving people. Kyle’s teams continue to impact the project delivery experience, implementing collaborative efforts. Kyle focuses on building a strong culture of trust and vulnerability to deliver successful projects. Driven to substantially impact workplace engagement, his group explores new opportunities in delivery means, methods, and relationships. Kyle has a unique perspective that combines experience as a subcontractor, contractor, developer, and institutional owner as well as time within technology firms focused on the construction industry. Combining degrees in Construction Management and Industrial Technology, he channels his passion for delivering the best cultural environment within for his teams to succeed.

Rachel has dedicated her career to the design of children’s healthcare projects. As the pediatric practice leader for HKS, she is responsible for assisting in the overall design direction and planning issues of inpatient and outpatient pediatric projects across the firm. Rachel works closely with patients, families, and caregivers to ensure the owner and ultimately the end user’s vision for the project is fulfilled. She feels that process improvement should be a key driver on any project, from reducing waste in hospital operations, to enhancing collaboration between design and construction team members.
