Daniel is responsible for the vision, design, entitlements and execution of new and existing real estate developments, and strategic positioning of all real estate assets. Previously, Daniel was the Senior Principal and Practice Leader for the Stantec Buildings and ViBE groups in Colorado, where he oversaw the vision, design and execution for multiple life sciences and healthcare facilities, mixed-use developments, sports and entertainment districts, arenas, urban districts, shopping experiences, nationally and in over 15 countries. He has over 20 years of experience in visioning, planning, urban design, architecture, interior design, branding and graphic design, environmental graphics and wayfinding, sustainable design, and placemaking. Daniel earned a Master of Architecture and Healthcare Design from Texas A&M University. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in from the Instituto Superior de Arquitectura in Mexico City, and the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, in Haifa, Israel. He serves on the Colorado University LEEDS Real Estate Center International Advisory Board, the ULI’s RETL Council, and the Better Boulder Board of Directors. For Daniel, delivering captivating, relevant, sustainable, and exceptionally unique projects is the status quo. He designs and develops places where people elect to spend their time. He finds connections and meaning; creating beautiful design, focused on the experience.

Byron Hewett has led healthcare and life science companies for more than 30 years, in multi-national firms, development-stage and start-up companies. Byron is a 4-time CEO, including being a founder of Brava Diagnostics (now part of Heska). Prior to Brava, Byron was CEO of SomaLogic, a life sciences tools company focused on biomarker discovery where he raised $240M in capital to fund the company’s growth. He served as Chairman and CEO of BioBehavioral Diagnostics, a start-up medical device company with the first FDA-cleared system for the assessment of ADHD. He served as CEO at Immunicon (NASDAQ: IMMC), the first FDA-cleared test for circulating tumor cells. He served in senior executive roles at Qiagen, Bayer Diagnostics, Chiron Diagnostics and Abbott Diagnostics. Byron earned his MBA from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce.

Ben Orozco is a Project Manager at CRB with 20 years of experience with most of his career dedicated to the life sciences industry. He has a deep technical background designing equipment and processes for facilities predicated on maximum flexibility, logistics optimization and technologies that reduce costs while allowing for pipeline expandability and higher quality therapeutics. In addition to leading projects, Ben is responsible for CRB’s companywide strategy and growth in the developer market.

As VP of Process Technology, Mitch is a newer member of the AES leadership team and brings three decades of experience working directly for large and small biopharmaceutical companies including Amgen, Merck, Novartis, and Baxter. He was VP of Manufacturing at Pfenex, a biosimilar company who recently launched a generic (Forteo®) osteoporosis multi use injection pen. Most recently, he comes to AES from Tocagen a gene therapy company in San Diego. He earned degrees in Mechanical Engineering Technology and Mathematics and holds certifications in Six Sigma Green Belt and Project Management. He originally started his biopharmaceutical career at Amgen as part of the Engineering & Construction department designing, building, and commissioning research and manufacturing facilities at their headquarters site. He then expanded this experience to global operations in Puerto Rico and European finishing sites. Post his facility design and construction experience, he has been leading clinical and commercial biopharma manufacturing functions at numerous companies supplying multiple life-saving products to patients including EPOGEN®, PROCRIT®, Aranesp®, NEUPOGEN®, NEULASTA® INFERGEN®, SYMLIN®, BYETTA® , ADVATE®, Focetria®, OrgalutranTM, Sensipar®, and Mimpara®. Mitch’s manufacturing experience includes many years of clinical and commercial supply through contract manufacturing organizations. He has lived outside the United States on multiple expatriate work assignments living in Puerto Rico and Liverpool. He considers career highlights to be his leadership roles in the design and construction of over 100Kft2 of regulated biopharma facilities, the supply of H1N1 pandemic flu vaccine, as well as leading the commercial product launches of multiple novel life changing products. “I have thoroughly enjoyed contributing my experience and services to the biopharmaceutical industry. I have had family members use the products that I’ve manufactured and it’s an inspiring feeling knowing the life changing impact of your work. I was honored to join the AES team and their earned reputation in the cleanroom design/build industry where I can offer my experience to patients in a whole new way through the application of modern engineering design, installation methods, and materials of construction”. Mitch has been happily married to his wife Cathy for 32 years and is father of two children, Crystal and John. Crystal is employed as a nurse in California and John is financial research analyst in New York City. Cathy is a former personal trainer and it’s safe to say there is no rest for the weary at home as they are constantly on the move hiking, biking, swimming, or running. When he’s not exercising, he is off riding his motorcycle enjoying the Pennsylvania scenery and visiting the many historical sites.

Previously, Kris Gaw joined Valleywise Health in March 2016 as Chief Operating Officer. Valleywise Health is Arizona’s only public health care system and Maricopa County’s largest training center of physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Valleywise Health includes the Roosevelt Campus-Hospital, the Arizona Burn Center, the Arizona Children’s Center, a Level I Trauma Center, three behavioral health centers and a network of 13 neighborhood clinics that serve the entire county. Prior to joining Valleywise Health, Ms. Gaw served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer – Hospital Operations for Parkland Hospital and Health System in Dallas, Texas, one of the largest public health systems in the country. At Parkland, Ms. Gaw was responsible for overseeing daily hospital operations as well as system wide ancillary and support services. She served as Executive Lead for the successful movement of 626 patients from old Parkland into their new state of the art 2.1 million square foot facility. From 2008 to 2014, Ms. Gaw served as Chief Operating Officer at Renown Regional Medical Center, an 808-bed tertiary care facility and Level II Trauma Center in Reno, Nevada, that provides services that span over an 80,000 square mile radius from Sacramento to Salt Lake City. Renown Regional is home to the area’s only Children’s Hospital, with the region’s only children’s emergency room. From 2002 to 2008, Ms. Gaw was Vice President of Human Resources at Renown Health, northern Nevada’s largest integrated health network, with more than 6,000 employees. From 1995 to 2001, Ms. Gaw was Director of Customer Service for Hometown Health, the insurance division of Renown Health. Gaw received both a Bachelor’s and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is a member of American College of Healthcare Executives and is a certified lean professional. She also is the proud mom of a beautiful daughter who is a recent nursing school graduate.

Mr. Frank received his B.S. in Business from the University of Colorado – Boulder in 1988 and a M.S. in Health Administration from the University of Colorado – Denver in 1997. He achieved his Certified Public Accountant status in 1990. Mr. Frank is responsible for the Business Office, Strategic Planning, Information Technology, Materials Management, Health Information Management, Inpatient Admissions, and Provider Relations for Craig Hospital. Prior to joining the Corporation in 2019, Mr. Frank was the Chief Financial Officer at Centura Health Longmont United Hospital and previously served as Director of Accounting and Reimbursement at Exempla Healthcare. Mr. Frank is an active participant in the community and currently serves on the boards of the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado and the Denver Young Artists Orchestra. He is also a member of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce Infrastructure Committee.

Chantily leads Mortenson Development’s healthcare vertical and is responsible for driving strategy and long-term growth. A 20 year real estate professional, Chantily has worked with health systems and care organizations nationwide delivering real estate solutions to help reduce the cost of care, improve the patient experience and positively impact the health of their communities. Most notably, she was responsible for regional portfolio strategy and management for a Fortune 6 global healthcare organization. Chantily brings a customer-focused approach—taking time to understand a client’s objectives and aligns resources, market knowledge and data needed to help make informed decisions. This makes her a trusted partner committed to helping healthcare clients achieve meaningful results by levering Mortenson’s deep development expertise—from strategic planning, portfolio optimization, site selection and financial feasibility to creative financing strategies and partnerships. Six Sigma Green Belt certified, Chantily earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and a master’s degree in healthcare services administration from the University of South Dakota. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Tina L. Du Mond is a Senior Project Manager at Page/. She has been specializing as an Architect in Healthcare for more than 18 years. Tina is a board-certified member of the American College of Healthcare Architects and is EDAC certified by the Center for Healthcare Design.

Juan Ramos is a Principal in Boulder Associates' Boulder office. With nearly two decades of experience in the healthcare design, project management and delivery, Juan excels at coordinating effective teams, driving commitments, and managing project risks. His projects ranged from large multispecialty medical office buildings to greenfield hospital sites. His knack for cultivating lasting client relationships has made him a go-to resource for organizations like Banner Health, SCL/Intermountain, and UC Health. Outside of his work with BA, Juan is an active facilitator with Ripple Intent, a human-centered nonprofit focused on creating a culture of collaboration between A/E/C professionals.

Katherine has been in the AEC and lighting design industry for over 15 years. She is a leader in HLB Lighting Design's Denver office and has a strong focus on project management, client care, market research, geographic business expansion, and business development. Katherine currently sits on the Board of Directors for the nonprofit The Business of Light. She has recently taken part in speaking at LightFair, Enlighten Americas, Neo Con, Invest in Women Forum, and ArchLight.
